What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is an ancient eastern philosophy/science, based on age-old wisdom, rooted from astronomy. It originated in China over 3000 years ago, some say even way before then.
In direct translation “Feng Shui” means Wind and Water, associated with good health, luck, and fortune.
Feng Shui is based on 3 core concept. 1;…everything is energy. 2;… duality, the concept of Yin (female/Moon/night/dark) and Yang (male/Sun/day/light), two halves together complete wholeness, that forms overall balance. 3;…all made up of the 5 elements, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. There are 12 Chinese Zodiac animal signs associated with the 5 elements of Feng Shui.
This universal wisdom considers the pure laws of nature, that govern the flow of energy, which can be favorable or unfavorable. In this philosophy, your living space is a direct reflection of your life. Further, all objects possess a vital force, called “Qi” (pronounced “Chi”) to bring opportunities, health, wealth, luck, and prosperity into your home or work environment.
Distinct principles of locations, directions, and compass points are assigned to a specific element that will activate the Qi, attracting the desired outcome of each location of your home, and by extension, to your life. When a specific location, room or space, has enough good Qi coming into the area and the energy has an appropriate flow, it creates an auspicious environment, brings health, balance, and harmony for the people who occupy the space.
